  Celebrating 25 years (from a safe distance) Joe's is the largest independent arts center in Prince George’s County. Artist Partners from Joe’s in Mt. Rainier and our new Creative Suitland Arts Center perform exclusively for you. Welcome to our Virtual Gala!

  Pre-purchased sponsorships and "Live Long and Prosper" tickets receive Joe's home-delivered Care Package.

  Joe's Care Package included a stay-well personal protection pouch with masks, gloves, sanitizer and lip balm.

  Nothing says "We Care" like a fresh baked apple pie. One was included in each care package.

  Chris Van Hollen was among many local VIP's sharing their views about BLM, the Pandemic and support for Joe's.

  Original performances inspired by and relevant to the unprecedented moment being experienced by the community, were live-streamed free to all registrants.

  Several health experts offered tips on self-care and wellness as part of the evening's program.

  In tune with keeping artists afloat through the pandemic, Joe's encouraged live tipping direct to performers.

  Every year, Joe’s Movement Emporium recognizes movers and shakers in our universe, with the Mighty Joe Awards.

• 

  Each "Mighty Joes" received this personalized, aluminum photo plaque.

• 

  When the community leaders, special guests with healing vibes and great performances are complete – everyone, social distancing at home – is invited to join our DJ-led dance party. After all, it is Joe's MOVEMENT Emporium.

  The entire Gala Event pivoted contextually, three times in less than two months. Ultimately, we successfully delivered a three-hour evening of movement, voices and action, curated to help heal the soul of Joe's community.

For their 25th Anniversary Gala, a Cosmic Event was planned that combined Interstellar Chic, Afro-futurism, and Comic Exuberance.

And then...

The pandemic took hold, and the urgency of the Black Lives Matter movement demanded we pivot the entire event into a virtual experience that was more sensitive, socially considerate, and provided community healing. The full creative spirit, virtuoso talent, and ingenuity of Joe's team, was harnessed into their first ever, live-stream event. Producing the event was much like piloting a starship through a worm hole. Together, we landed an overwhelming success. Record funds were raised for the Movement Emporium, and a strong, caring connection was made with Joe's extended community.
